According to a study by experts, reducing the amount of talking on the mobile phone can keep the heart healthy and the blood pressure controlled.
In the research of the team of the Southern Medical University in the Chinese city of Guangzhou, an attempt has been made to assess whether there is any connection between high blood pressure and talking on mobile phones or picking up calls.
The data of more than 200,000 British citizens were collected by the experts for this research, after which information regarding the use of mobile phones by these citizens was obtained through a questionnaire.
Questions were asked of these people how long have they been using mobile phones? What is the amount of time they use their cell phones each week and do they use speakerphones or hands-free?
According to the results, people who spoke on the phone for 30 minutes or more per week were 12 percent less likely to have high blood pressure than those who spoke less time on the phone.
Similarly, people who talked on the phone for more than 6 hours per week had a 25 percent higher risk of developing high blood pressure than those who spent less than 5 minutes on the phone.
