According to the notification, the price of sugar will include Rs 14 58 paise sales tax, Rs 5 30 paise profit and expenses of sugar mills, 25 paise distributor’s margin, transport cost of Rs 2 per kg, and retailer’s profit of Rs 1 per kg.

In the notification, it has been said that due to the non-fixation of sugar prices, sugar has become more expensive in the market by 30%.
Sources of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture say that the district administration will be obliged to sell sugar at official rates.
On the other hand, citizens say that sugar is being sold at Rs 125 per kg even in big stores, while the price of sugar in the open market is Rs 130 per kg.
