The Director of the Forensic Science Laboratory, Waqar Ahmed, stated that examining the bullet-proof jackets and helmets worn by the martyred police officers revealed an entry point for the bullets but no exit point, indicating that the protective gear was adequate.
The police reported that the officers were targeted from different angles and that the militants used weapons, including 9 mm, SMG, and 30-bore guns. The post-mortem examination showed injuries on the officers’ sides, and 48 shots were fired at them, with 23 bullets hitting them.
The Inspector General of Police formed an inquiry committee in Kohat after reports surfaced on social media that bullet-proof jackets and helmets of police personnel had failed to protect them during militant attacks.
The committee was tasked with investigating the incident and submitting a report on the effectiveness of the bullet-proof jackets and helmets.
