Former captain Shahid Afridi revealed why he chose fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi as his son-in-law.
Shahid Afridi along with son-in-law Shaheen Afridi appeared as a guest on a private TV show during which the host questioned Shahid Afridi on Shaheen’s choice for Ansha.
Talking about this, Shahid Afridi said that the elders of my family and the elders of Shaheen’s family knew each other for a long time, our family did not know each other but our elders were aware of each other.

He said that Shaheen’s father and mother look like his parents to me now, but before the relationship, there was a gap between the two families, after Shaheen started playing for Pakistan U-19, then I also know his brother Riyaz. Overall, Shaheen’s performance in cricket and his family also impressed me a lot.
The former captain said that Shaheen’s parents have been telling me for 2 years that they like Ansha but it took me time to say yes because a daughter is something you can’t trust quickly. His reputation impressed me, everyone told me that Shaheen is the best guy, and respectable to which I said yes.
In response to a question, Shahid Afridi said that I have forbidden Shaheen not to call me father-in-law.
