Pakistani cricket stars Shaheen Shah Afridi and Zaman Khan are garnering praise for their outstanding performances in the UK’s T20 Vitality Blast tournament, delighting fans with their skills on the field.
Representing the Nottinghamshire Outlaws, Shaheen showcased his prowess with the bat by smashing four boundaries and scoring an impressive 29 runs off just 11 deliveries.
On the other hand, Zaman Khan demonstrated his talent with the ball, delivering a commendable performance. He claimed three wickets for 34 runs in a match against the Birmingham Bears. Notably, 12 of his deliveries during the four overs he bowled resulted in dot balls, showcasing his accuracy and control.
After making a mark in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Khan has ventured into English county cricket. Currently, he is representing the Derbyshire County Cricket Club in the T20 Vitality Blast this summer.
At 21 years of age, Zaman Khan is known for his lightning-fast bowling, with speeds reaching up to 90MPH. With 49 T20 matches under his belt, he has already taken 59 wickets at an impressive average of 23.35, boasting a best bowling figure of 4-16. Additionally, he made his international debut in the T20I series against Afghanistan in March of this year, maintaining an impressive economy rate of 6.66.
In the PSL, Khan has been an integral part of the Lahore Qalandars, contributing to the team’s championship victories. He also played for the Jaffna Kings in the recent edition of the Lanka Premier League, helping them secure the title.
Another young talent, Naseem Shah, also made an impact in the tournament, conceding only 20 runs in four overs and capturing a wicket for Leicestershire against Northamptonshire.
