New York: The Security Council adopted a resolution against the Taliban for preventing Afghan women from working for the United Nations.
In a resolution passed unanimously in the United Nations Security Council, the Taliban was condemned for imposing restrictions on women. The resolution demanded the Taliban to immediately stop the crackdown on women’s rights.

A resolution jointly presented by the United Arab Emirates and Japan called the Taliban’s ban on women from working for the United Nations “abnormal and a violation of human rights.”
The Taliban imposed restrictions on Afghan women working for the United Nations this month. Most of the women were working for aid groups.
