Rawalpindi: In a major robbery incident in the Rawat police station area, armed robbers looted Rs.5 crore from the driver of a shoe trader. According to Express News, there has been a major robbery in a private housing society established in Rawat police station in Rawalpindi, in which armed robbers robbed the driver of shoe merchant Sheikh Iqbal with 4 crores 75 lakhs.
Regarding the incident, Sheikh Iqbal said that he has a shoe business in the Sadar area and also works on the property. The driver had money to deliver to a house located in a private housing society phase 7. When the driver reached the house, the armed robbers snatched the bag containing the money and fled.

According to the police, the incident took place around 4:30 in the evening, but the victim reported the incident quite late. The police said that the affected citizen did not explain why he sent such a huge amount in the form of cash. SP President Nabil Khokhar said that the incident is being investigated from all angles. Moreover, CCTV footage of installed cameras on the roads leading to the incident site is also being watched closely.
