PTI Engages Second Lobbying Firm in the US to Promote Pakistan’s Interests

According to the documents, the contract was signed on February 21, and Praia Consultants will be paid $8,333 monthly. The agreement will be effective for six months; The firm will provide PTI USA with “strategic consulting, outreach and advocacy services” to promote the US party’s image and agenda.

This move comes after the PTI government accused the US of meddling its internal affairs and promoting anti-Pakistan sentiments. The PTI government has repeatedly called for better relations with the US but has also criticized US policies towards Pakistan. Hiring a lobbying firm is a way to improve PTI’s image and relationships with US decision-makers.

According to the agreement between PTI USA and Praia Consultants LLC, the lobbying firm will provide expert advice on the client’s relationship with the US government and institutions. The firm will also arrange meetings with key US decision-makers and guide the content of those meetings.

The contract will remain valid for six months, until January 31, 2024, provided both parties approve and provide written consent by June 30, 2023. The contract states that Praia Consultants LLC will be paid $8,333.00 monthly for its services.

PTI has been actively seeking to improve its image and relations with the US government and institutions by hiring lobbying and PR firms.

The hiring of Praia Consultants LLC is a continuation of this effort, with the firm tasked with providing expert advice and organizing meetings with key US decision-makers.

It is interesting to note the high cost of these services, with both Fenton/Arlook and Praia Consultants LLC being paid thousands of dollars per Month. Ultimately, it will depend on how well the PTI can connect with the US audience and convey its message effectively.

The Pakistani government has accused Imran Khan of working for those who want to destabilize the country in response to the PTI hiring a US-based lobbying firm. 

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif criticized American diplomat Zalmay Khalilzad for supporting Imran Khan. He questioned why he does not speak out on issues such as the atrocities committed against the people of Palestine and Kashmir. Asif also suggested that Khalilzad may be receiving information from people in Pakistan.
