Brigadier Mustafa Kamal Barki, who was martyred during an encounter with terrorists in Angoor Adda, South Waziristan, was laid to rest with full military honors at Army Graveyard Rawalpindi on Wednesday.
President Dr. Arif Alvi attended the funeral prayers; Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir, DG Inter-Services Intelligence Lieutenant General Nadeem Ahmed Anjum and a large number of serving and retired military officers and soldiers, government officials, parliamentarians and public.
Brigadier Barki played a vital role in dismantling numerous terrorist networks in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan and was instrumental in neutralizing the terrorist networks involved in the Army Public School attack.
The statement from the ISPR highlighted the nation’s recognition of Brigadier Barki’s services and sacrifice for Pakistan. It also reaffirmed the resolve of the armed forces and intelligence agencies to stand resilient against terrorism and eradicate this menace at all costs.

Brigadier Barki had embraced martyrdom during an encounter with terrorists in the Angoor Adda area of South Waziristan, while seven others were injured. Of those injured, two were critically wounded.

Despite being outnumbered and under heavy fire, they fought valiantly to protect their fellow citizens and maintain peace. Brigadier Barki’s sacrifice is a testament to the dedication and commitment of the Pakistani Armed Forces and their unwavering resolve to defend their country against all threats.
