Prince Harry’s uncle, Charles Spencer, has expressed his support for the Duke of Sussex after his emotional and powerful witness statement during the second day of his testimony on June 7th, 2023.
Spencer, the younger brother of Princess Diana, took to Twitter to share his backing for his nephew following his testimony. In response to a tweet by Daily Mail columnist Amanda Platell, who suggested that Harry was still fixated on his former flame Chelsea Davy, Spencer strongly rebuked her.

Spencer called out Platell, stating, “Pathetic, @amandajplatell – you have no shame, and even less credibility. Last time I heard from you, you were guilty of libelling me, as your employer at @DailyMailUK agreed. Now you’re put up (by them?) to misrepresent significant legal evidence as if it was something trivial.”
When a commentator asked Spencer for “significant evidence” in the phone hacking case, he highlighted the substantial settlements paid by the Daily Mirror group to those who were hacked, suggesting that this served as initial evidence. He retweeted messages from Alastair Campbell, a writer and strategist who previously advised former Prime Minister Tony Blair.
Campbell highlighted the point made by Prince Harry about the damage caused to trust within one’s own circle when confidential information is leaked without knowledge of its origin. Campbell acknowledged that Harry may not be able to prove that all the stories referred to in court arose from illegal activity but emphasized that he could establish that illegal activity was indeed taking place.
