On the occasion of Pakistan Day, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif highlighted the challenges faced by the country, citing economic instability and political chaos as the main issues.
He urged the nation to pay tribute to the country’s founders while not losing sight of the challenges. The Prime Minister emphasized that the country’s failure to develop its economy sustainably is due to political chaos and an inability to settle the game’s rules.
The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of accountability and learning from past mistakes to achieve progress and success as a nation.
He called for unity and a shared national purpose to overcome the challenges faced by Pakistan. The message was delivered on Pakistan Day, commemorating the passing of the Lahore Resolution on March 23, 1940, which called for a separate Muslim state in South Asia.
President Arif Alvi, in his message on Pakistan Day, acknowledged the successes and failures of the nation and emphasized the need to take stock of them.

He also talked about the persecution of minorities, and the violation of human rights in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and praised the decision of the Muslim leaders of that time.
President Alvi also mentioned the nation’s achievements in establishing state institutions, making the country’s defence impregnable, achieving nuclear deterrence, curbing terrorism, overcoming the COVID-19 pandemic, and displaying the spirit of sacrifice and cooperation during natural calamities.
The Lahore Resolution, also known as the Pakistan Resolution, called for creating of an independent Muslim state in the northern and northwestern regions of British India.
The All India Muslim League adopted the resolution during its three-day annual session held in Lahore from March 22 to 24, 1940. It was a major milestone in the struggle for independence that eventually led to the creation of Pakistan on August 14, 1947.
The joint armed forces parade, the main event of Pakistan Day, was called off due to bad weather on March 23 and has been rescheduled to be held on March 25. Other events and celebrations still took place nationwide to mark the occasion.
