Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Management Committee Chairman Najam Sethi attended the important meeting regarding the participation of green shirts in the Asia Cup and ICC World Cup 2023 in India.
According to media reports, the officials of the Pakistan Cricket Board met the officials of the Asian Cricket Council in Dubai on Tuesday and raised their objection to the move of shifting the Asia Cup to Sri Lanka instead of the United Arab Emirates.
PCB management committee chairman Najam Sethi stressed that the ACC should accept Pakistan’s proposal for a revised hybrid model for the Asia Cup and if the majority of members want to host it elsewhere, it should be held at the United Arab Emirates like in 2018 and 2022.
The PCB chief said that rejecting the concerns of the Board of Cricket in India (BCCI), he said that during the meeting it was said that the weather in UAE will be hot in September, BCCI in the year 2020 from September to November.
Earlier, in the last meeting of the ACC board in February, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan had refused to hold the tournament in Sri Lanka and said that Pakistan should have been the host.
In the past few days, India, with the influence of the board, the lure of additional matches and the dream of hosting, turned Sri Lanka to its side so that the tournament could be held in another country instead of Pakistan.
