The remake of the classic hit Pakeezah released in 1972 will be soon worked on. It is decided that the lead role played by legend Meena Kumari will be brought to life by Meera g. The ever-remembered Bollywood classic Pakeezah was directed, written, and produced by Meena kumari’s husband Kamal Amrohi.
Big names such as the late Ashok Kumar, Rajkumar, and heroine Meena kumari played key roles in the legendary Bollywood hit.
As stated by Meera in her recent talk, 100%, I will be playing the lead role in the remake of Pakeezah. She further disclosed that the project was under discussion for 13 years but now production time has arrived, and it will soon start in early march 2023. Although the casting is still in progress and not yet finalized, I am sure to play Meena Kumari in the movie. The project is under development by a US-based company called Red Lipstick.

Earlier, there were rumors about the leading lady of the Pakistani film industry Mahira khan playing the lead, but it was strictly denied by Meera g in her recent talk to the media.
Pakeezah movie was a form of musical drama which became a classic hit after its release. The movie was in progress in 1956 but due to some personal miscommunication and the illness of Meena kumari, the release was delayed until 1969. Just a month after the release of the movie, Meena kumari passed away. The movie went on to be one of the biggest successes in history.
