Pakistan and Germany have agreed to enhance cooperation in the fields of film, art, and culture. The decision was reached during a meeting between Marriyum Aurangzeb, Pakistan’s Minister for Information and Broadcasting, and German Ambassador Alfred Grannas in Islamabad, according to Radio Pakistan.
During the meeting, Minister Aurangzeb briefed Ambassador Grannas on Pakistan’s film and culture policy, highlighting the incentives provided under it. She expressed the desire to showcase Pakistan’s rich culture and civilization to the world through screen tourism. The minister encouraged foreign filmmakers to take advantage of special concessions offered for filmmaking in Pakistan.
Minister Aurangzeb expressed confidence that the establishment of the Iqbal-Goethe Art and Culture Center in Berlin would strengthen the bond between the peoples of Pakistan and Germany. She emphasized that collaboration between public and private sector institutions of both countries would contribute to the promotion of film, art, and culture.
The Information Minister commended German media for their objective and impartial reporting on Pakistan’s situation. She also thanked Germany for its support to the flood-affected people in Pakistan.
Minister Aurangzeb stressed the importance of increasing the bilateral trade volume between Pakistan and Germany, which currently stands at four billion dollars.
In response, the German Ambassador praised Minister Aurangzeb’s efforts in promoting film and culture.
The agreement to enhance cooperation in the areas of film, art, and culture reflects the commitment of both Pakistan and Germany to strengthen their cultural ties and foster mutual understanding.
