President Arif Alvi has approved a 90-day reduction in the sentences of prisoners on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr. On the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, the sentences of prisoners in jail have been reduced by 90 days, and President Arif Alvi has approved the same.
The President has approved the reduction of sentences under Article 45, under which the relaxation will also apply to male prisoners above 65 years of age and women above 60 years of age, while those below 18 years of age will be exempted. Reduction in punishment will also be applied.

According to the notification, reduction in sentences will not be applicable to prisoners involved in murder, espionage, anti-state activities, while criminals involved in financial crimes and damage to national exchequer will also not be able to benefit from this relaxation.
