Actress and host Nadia Khan revolutionized the morning show landscape in Pakistan, making them a beloved tradition around the country.
Recently on YouTuber Nadir Ali’s podcast, Nadia Khan shared that when she hosted the morning show, it was the channel’s most successful revenue earner.
Sue also said the morning show did not get her daily money but a monthly salary.
Nadia said, ‘ In the beginning, I was a teacher in Dubai; even then, I was paid 2,000 dirhams while other teachers used to get 5 to 6 dirhams’.
Regarding the morning show, She said, “In 2003, Pakistanis used to give me 100,000 rupees for doing a morning show in Dubai, which was very low in terms of Dubai.”
Nadia Khan was unaware of her worth and contribution to the channel when she first arrived in Karachi in 2004, and unfortunately, the track didn’t recognize it either. Nadia decided to leave the show without any explanation.
When Nadia Khan was asked to return to the morning show in Pindi in 2005, she couldn’t help but feel slightly confused. After all, the show had just been broadcast from Dubai without any commercials.
But then, when the morning show ended, the channel was flooded with calls from fans asking where Nadia and the morning show had gone.
It was then that Nadia realized the power of her work, that people had gone out of their way to find her, and that her show was so beloved.
Nadia was overwhelmed by the love and support and felt truly humbled to be given all the support and comforts – a house, a car – to continue her show.
The morning show host said, ‘At that time, I got a lot of comforts, but the salary was low; I said that only my bills would be paid with this salary; I did not come from Pindi to Karachi to pay the bills, I asked to increase my salary three times. That is, my monthly salary was increased from one lakh to 3 lacks.
She said, ‘ Later, when the show became a hit, I was offered very big packages; I used to think, what am I doing that they are giving so much money?
