Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman and former Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that the state is trying to destroy the party on the pretext of the May 9 fire (condemned by the entire PTI leadership).
In a statement on the social networking website Twitter, he wrote that on May 25 last year, our descent into fascism began. During the three and a half years of the PTI government, three long marches of the PDM were allowed without any hindrance, but we faced state terrorism with full force.

He said that houses were ransacked in the middle of the night and PTI officials and workers were abducted and then whoever reached Islamabad faced tear gas, rubber bullets and police brutality. Some of us thought it was an era but it was only the beginning.
The Chairman of PTI said that today the largest and only federal party is facing the full wrath of the state power without any accountability. More than 10,000 PTI activists and supporters are in jail, including senior leadership and some facing torture in custody.
Imran Khan said that on the pretext of the May 9 fire (condemned by the entire PTI leadership), the state was trying to destroy the party by forcing divorces and military courts against PTI members. The case is being prosecuted. Those who are raising slogans of Yazidism in PDM and the journalist community should know that it is not PTI but our democracy that is destroying our freedom.
In the end, the former prime minister wrote that however this attempt to enslave us will fail because we have a politically conscious young population who get their information from social media despite being subservient to the media.
