In a shocking incident, two women were subjected to a brutal assault by a member of the Sindh Assembly (MPA) and his staff in a residential building lift in Karachi, according to the police.
The incident, which occurred on May 5, was captured on CCTV installed in the lift of a residential building in Do Darya. The footage has recently been released, bringing attention to the incident.
The video shows two women accompanied by a child inside the lift when the son of MPA Aslam Abro, along with his staff and friends, entered the lift. An argument ensued, which quickly escalated into violence after the women requested that the MPA’s son and his friends not enter the lift due to weight limitations. Security guards intervened to settle the dispute between the two groups.

Subsequently, on May 18, a case was registered by the police, and an individual named Adnan Rana, reportedly a family member of the woman, was arrested in connection with the incident. The complaint was lodged by MPA Aslam Abro’s cook, who was seen in the CCTV footage participating in the assault against the women.
The police have initiated an investigation into the matter to gather more information and ascertain the full details of the incident.
