Patna, A 40-year-old man was arrested under the Child Protection article from Sexual Offenses Act for marrying an 11-year-old girl in the Siwan district of the Indian state of Bihar. The accused has been identified as Mahendra Pandey.
According to NDTV, Sivan Superintendent of Police Shailesh Kumar Sinha said, ‘The accused Mahendra Kumar has been arrested under the POSCO Act. The minor girl has been sent for a medical examination and further investigation is underway.
The mother of the minor girl alleged that accused Mahendra Pandey had forcibly married her daughter due to non-payment of debt. However, accused Mahendra Pandey denied the above allegations saying that it was a trap laid by the girl’s mother to extort money from her.
“I got married with the consent of the girl and her mother, and now the girl’s mother is blackmailing me, she started demanding money, there is no money transaction between us, and I am trapped.” Some media people are spreading fake news.

The minor girl Sandhya Kumar has said that her mother is framing the accused Mahendra Pandey in a false case. The minor girl said, ‘We both got married with my mother’s consent, we want to live together. Earlier my mother had done everything, now she is trapping both of us.’
