Jawdropping Single Day Sale Record At Tim Hortons DHA, Lahore

The recent news of the dollar and prices rising, coupled with the devastating floods have affected millions of people in the country. The economic climate of Pakistan continues to deteriorate, with concerns about inflation and economic default still, there is a class who are not letting such worries stand in the way of getting pricey refreshments. 

However, amidst the economic breakdown, there are those who remain unfazed – busy breaking records of buying overpriced coffee. On Friday, the iconic Canadian coffee brand Tim Hortons opened its first outlet at DHA Phase 6 and witnessed long queues of visitors outside the store. Elite Lahoris were eager to devour the ridiculously priced baked goods and famous coffee that the brand is renowned for.

The Canadian multinational food service franchise Tim Hortons has made a remarkable achievement in Pakistan, breaking a 61-year record with its highest sale in a single day. Inflation has been taking its toll on many, leaving many feeling the pinch. This success comes at a time when prices for everyday items are reaching an all-time high, making it increasingly difficult for citizens to access basic necessities on limited salaries. 

The recent emergence of foreign food chains in Pakistan has drawn a variety of responses from fans. One user wrote that the targeted audience of these eateries is not affected by the current situation in the country, leading to the chains’ continued success. This sentiment speaks to a deeper truth: that Pakistan is a nation with two distinct factions, one which is saturated but still profitable, and another which is not. 

Amongst them is the acclaimed actor Farhan Saeed, who has taken to Twitter to express his fears that there are only two extremes in the country – those queuing up for basic necessities and those enjoying luxuries such as those at Tim Hortons.

Many people are in favor of the move, citing its potential to boost the economy. If Tim Hortons is successful, the theory goes, then other brands may follow suit, leading to increased job opportunities and a greater circulation of money.

Note that Tim Hortons’ second and third stores will open on the 18th and 25th of February, in Gulberg, Lahore, respectively.
