New Delhi: Riots broke out in the Indian state of Manipur. Curfew was imposed in 8 districts by calling the army on behalf of the Modi government.
According to Indian media, violent incidents intensified in Imphal, the capital of Manipur state, and angry people started attacking each other’s houses.
During the riots, several churches and several houses were set on fire while the properties of the opponents are also being damaged. There are also reports of several people being burnt and injured in the fire.

Due to the bad situation in Manipur, the government has called in the army in the state while a curfew has been imposed in the worst affected 8 districts. Internet service was also suspended for 5 days in most areas of the state while gatherings were completely banned.
