Rumors about Sri Lanka handing over the Asia Cup host turned out to be false.
The Sri Lankan Cricket Board (SLC) on behalf of the Sri Lankan Cricket Board (SLC) said that “we were neither asked nor told about the hosting of the Asia Cup while calling the news about the change of venue in the Indian media is fake”.
A decision regarding the hosting of Sri Lanka Cricket is to be taken at the meeting of the Asian Cricket Council. On the other hand, due to the dark cloud over the future of the Asia Cup, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has started contacting other boards for bilateral and trilateral series.
Earlier, the Indian media had reported that the Asian Cricket Council has decided to move the tournament from Pakistan to another Asian country, and in this regard, Sri Lanka is being considered as the most suitable venue, while in this regard at the end of this month. The host country will be announced.
