New Delhi: Even in the holiest month for Muslims in India, the Modi government did not stop Islamophobia. Government-sponsored extremist Hindu goons are attacking mosques and religious gatherings.
According to Indian media, in the city of Haldavani in Uttarakhand, thugs of the extremist Hindu party Bajrang Dal attacked a mosque and stopped taraweeh. The Muslim population protested peacefully against this hooliganism.
Police were absent when Bajrang Dal goons attacked the mosque, but as soon as Muslims protested against the violation of their fundamental right to religious freedom, the police swooped on the protester. Instead of arresting the terrorists of Bajrang Dal, the police of the Modi government sealed a part of the Alta Masjid on the orders of the magistrate., on which a wave of anger spread among the Muslim population.
Earlier, Muslims were also barred from Taraweeh in Moradabad. Taraweeh and Isha prayers were also stopped in Noida, while worshipers were attacked and tortured at Jamia Masjid in Jharkhand Hazarvi Bagh. Similarly, a mosque was also attacked in Hyderabad Deccan. The assailants chanted Jaishree Ram slogans and harassed worshipers while Muslim shops were also vandalized.
