According to reports, Pakistani cricketers Imad Wasim and Azam Khan have agreed to join the Seattle Orcas for the inaugural edition of Major League Cricket (MLC). Known for their impressive performances in franchise T20 leagues worldwide, both players are not centrally contracted to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), allowing them to participate in the upcoming MLC season in the United States.
Imad and Azam have reportedly joined the Seattle Orcas, a team owned by GMR Group, the co-owners of the Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The inclusion of these talented players is expected to bolster the Orcas’ squad for the competition.

Furthermore, negotiations are underway with two other Pakistani players who are centrally contracted by the PCB. However, their participation in the tournament is subject to the PCB’s approval.
Earlier, MLC approached the PCB to seek participation from national team players. The PCB requested a fee of USD 25,000 if any national player is selected in the MLC draft. The final decision on Pakistani players’ involvement in the league will be made once this obligation is fulfilled.
MLC has already attracted several high-profile overseas signings, including Marcus Stoinis, Quinton de Kock, Wanindu Hasaranga, Anrich Nortje, and Glenn Phillips, showcasing the league’s global appeal and competitive nature.
In addition, England’s Jason Roy has confirmed his participation in the MLC by terminating his incremental contract with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), further adding to the star power of the league.
With the inclusion of Imad Wasim, Azam Khan, and other potential Pakistani players, the MLC is poised to become an exciting platform for cricketing talent from around the world, providing an opportunity for players to showcase their skills in the United States.
