LAHORE: Due to the ongoing economic crisis and inflation in the country, it has become difficult for people to educate their children, while the dropout rate has increased greatly in government and private schools.
After the increase in fees by private schools, parents are enrolling their children in government schools, according to the sources of the Punjab Education Department, the dropout rate of students in educational institutions in the province is very high. Overall, the dropout rate among students from first to twelfth standard is 60%, the rate from first to fifth is 28 to 30%, from fifth to tenth 40 to 50%, and from eleventh to twelfth the rate becomes 60%.
According to the sources, due to the current English medium and single curriculum system, children are rebelling against education. One of the reasons is the lack of teachers in educational institutions. Apart from teaching, teachers also do other government duties, due to which they do not fully teach the children.

For this reason, when the parents see that their child is not doing well or they are not able to support their children, then they try to keep the children in some work so that income starts `coming to their home.
