After the expensive gas the meter rent also increased immensely

Lahore: After the increase in gas prices, the monthly charges of gas meters have also been increased.

According to the notification issued by Sui Northern, the monthly rent of the gas meter has been increased from 40 rupees to 500 rupees, so even if the customer does not use gas, he has to pay a minimum bill of 500 rupees every month. These charges will be applicable from January 2023.

According to the notification, customers will have to pay an additional amount towards 3 months’ arrears, meter rent, and gas tariff, Swee Northern has started adding the amount to the gas bills every month.

In this regard, the spokesperson of Sui Northern Gas Company said that it is Ogra’s decision that has been implemented, this decision will not apply to those with gas bills less than 0.9 cubic hectare in November and December.

According to the spokesman, customers with low gas consumption will be satisfied with the meter rent.
