Washington: The US Commission has demanded the government to blacklist India.
According to a foreign news agency, a panel of the US Commission demanded the government to blacklist India on the issue of religious freedom.
The panel recommended that under Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, treatment of minorities continues to deteriorate and extremists are given free rein.
The panel said that continued enforcement of discriminatory laws has led to widespread intimidation and violence by mobs and Hindu extremists. The panel’s annual report pointed to violence against Muslims and Christians and the destruction of their property in Indian states.
