KARACHI: 2 people including a woman died due to a fire in the bogie of Karachi Express going from Karachi to Lahore near Khairpur.
According to the details, on April 26 and 27, at 12:30 AM, Karachi Express from Karachi to Lahore received a report of a fire in Business Coach No. 17, on which the vehicle was immediately stopped near Tando Masti Khan station.
Immediately, the fire brigade was informed, whose first vehicle reached the spot by 1:50 PM and after about 40 minutes of struggle, the fire was brought under control.
Meanwhile, two passengers died while four passengers are missing from the coach and the search is on. 70-year-old Rabia Bibi was seriously injured after jumping from the affected coach and could not survive the injuries, while the identity of the other deceased passenger has not yet been identified.
DS Sukkur, DCO Sukkur, and other railway officers were present at the spot and kept monitoring the situation and reporting to the Ministry. After separating the affected coach from the Karachi Express, it was sent to the destination at half past seven in the morning.

Taking strict notice of the incident, the Ministry of Railways has ordered an investigation. In this regard, the team under the leadership of the Federal Government Inspector of Railways has left for the scene of the incident, the media will also be informed as soon as the investigation is completed.
