Awami Muslim League chief and former interior minister, Sheikh Rasheed, alleged that his house in Islamabad was raided by the police in the early hours of Wednesday.
In a tweet, Sheikh Rasheed stated that the police conducted the raid around 3 am when he was not present. The former minister claimed that his staff was subjected to torture by the raiding police team, resulting in broken arms.
Sheikh Rasheed further alleged that the police confiscated his two vehicles and licensed weapons. In the aftermath of the violence on May 9, the police have taken swift action against leaders, workers, and supporters of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
Since the initiation of the crackdown, Sheikh Rasheed, as the chief of the Awami Muslim League, has been evading arrest and is considered a fugitive.
Numerous PTI leaders and workers have already been apprehended.
