According to News Sources, the authorities in Rawalpindi have extended the imposition of Section 144 until June 4 in order to maintain law and order and prevent any untoward situations.
The scope of Section 144, which prohibits all types of public gatherings, has been expanded in Rawalpindi. The deputy commissioner of Rawalpindi, Waqar Cheema, issued a notification stating that public rallies and gatherings are completely banned in the district, and the display of weapons is also prohibited.
The ban will remain in effect until June 4, and strict action will be taken against individuals who violate the orders.
However, the ban does not apply to law enforcement officers, police personnel, women, and children. It is important to note that the Rawalpindi administration imposed Section 144 following violent protests that erupted after the arrest of former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman, Imran Khan, on May 9.
The extension of Section 144 in Rawalpindi highlights the authorities’ commitment to maintaining peace and order in the district. The ban on public gatherings and the display of weapons aims to prevent any potential disruptions and ensure the safety of the community. Stringent actions will be taken against those who disregard the imposed restrictions.
