Pictures of an Israeli flag waving at a Nasra Public School event, also attended by school administrators quickly drew backlash from social media users after it was posted online.
An uploader with the username @DrSabirplf shared a photo showing an international event at the Nasra School located in Korangi, Karachi, where pupils could be seen standing in a row, waving the flags of various nations including Israel during the event.
Twitter users in Pakistan considered the flag display at the event that was hosted by an international school in Karachi undesirable because it contradicts Pakistan’s official stance on Israel.

In 2020, Imran Khan, the former prime minister of Pakistan, announced that Pakistan would by no means acknowledge the state of Israel. Pakistan reaffirmed that it would not recognize Israel as a separate state until there was an all-inclusive resolution to the years-long Palestinian issue.
Nasra School is not Pakistan’s first school to showcase an Israeli flag at a school event. Earlier in 2019, a middle school in Abbottabad aroused controversy after permitting the Israeli flag to be displayed alongside other flags at the UN conference.
Organizers of the event at the time agreed that hoisting the Israeli flag was an error that must not have occurred.
