Negotiations Between Government and PTI Ended, Agreement to Continue Talks

ISLAMABAD: The first round of talks between the government and PTI on the election issue has ended. In which no final decision could be reached, however, both committees have agreed to continue the negotiations and sit again tomorrow.

A two-hour-long meeting between the government and PTI’s negotiating committee was held in the Parliament House Committee Room No. 3, in which discussions were held to discuss and settle issues related to the election.

According to News, PTI’s three-member negotiation committee formed by Imran Khan, headed by Shah Mehmood Qureshi, reached the Parliament House for negotiations with the government. Fawad Chaudhry and Senator Ali Zafar were also included in the PTI committee.

The government committee included PPP leader Yusuf Raza Gilani, Naveed Qamar, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Railway Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique, Prime Minister of Law Nazir Tarar, League leader Ayaz Sadiq and MQM Member of Assembly Kishora Zahra.

There was no representative of Jamiat Ulema Islam in the seven-member committee formed by the government.

According to the sources, negotiations regarding the general elections were held in the meeting, in which the government and PTI put forward their respective proposals regarding the general elections.

Yusuf Raza Gilani, a member of the negotiation committee, said in an informal conversation with journalists that the talks are going on, the solution has to be found by the politicians.

After the talks, the government committee’s discussion with the journalists. Answering the questions of the journalists after the negotiations, Ishaq Dar said that TVR was discussed for which they will sit again tomorrow. The principle decision is to look at and solve the issue within the constitution, we have to take into account the interest of the state and the people.

Yusuf Raza Geelani said that PTI will put its demands before the negotiation committee of the government tomorrow, the discussion took place in a very good atmosphere today and it is hoped that this process will continue. He said that no demand has been made by the government, he will put the demands of PTI before his own leadership and then take a decision after consultation.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Vice-Chairman and Head of Negotiation Committee Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that the first session ended after two hours, political parties solve political problems through dialogue, the spirit in which we are sitting is to find a solution. “Not to be used as a delaying tactic, we have put forward our view. The next meeting will be held tomorrow.”

He said that our passion is to find a solution through these negotiations. We believe that whatever solution we propose will be in accordance with the constitution. wants to prioritize’.
