According to the state news agency, preparations for the upcoming Hajj season have commenced in Mina, with the tents being prepared and equipped to receive pilgrims.
Mustafa Hadi, the general supervisor of a company in Mina, highlighted that various tasks are being carried out to ensure the camps are ready. This includes maintenance work on electricity, plumbing, paints, and gypsum, as well as the installation of toilets and decorative elements within the camps.
In the coming days, the focus will shift to equipping restaurants, providing beds and blankets in the tents, and completing all necessary preparations to receive Hajj pilgrims during the Tarwiyah day (water provision day) and the three Tashriq days.
It is important to note that Mina is only inhabited during the Hajj period and is located within the holy sites’ borders, approximately 7 km away from the Holy Mosque, between Makkah and Muzdalifah.
In related news, the Hajj flight operation for Pakistani pilgrims has already begun. The first Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight departed from Karachi with 328 pilgrims on board. PIA is utilizing Boeing 777 and Airbus 320 aircraft for its extensive Hajj operation, aiming to transport over 65,000 intending pilgrims to Saudi Arabia.
The event was attended by Director Hajj Karachi, Sajjad Haider, DG Benazir Income Support Programme, Imtiaz Shah, as well as officials from PIA and the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).
These preparations signify the significant efforts being made to facilitate a smooth and safe Hajj pilgrimage for the pilgrims, ensuring their comfort and well-being throughout their stay in Mina.
