NAROWAL: Fakhar Zaman played a dominant inning of an unbeaten 68 off 23 balls, leading Lahore Qalandar to victory against PCB XI in an exhibition match at the newly constructed Narowal Cricket Ground on Sunday.
Fakhar Zaman and his partner Tair Baig entertained the crowd with an array of boundaries, showcasing their batting prowess during the soft launch of Narowal Sports City. This ambitious project comprises 14 stadiums dedicated to various sports.
Chasing a target of 120 runs in 10 overs, Qalandars achieved a comprehensive victory, securing a 10-wicket win with 14 balls to spare.
While Fakhar thrilled the spectators with his explosive innings, Tahir Baig also displayed his intent by scoring 51 runs off 23 deliveries.
During PCB XI’s batting innings, Asif Ali stole the limelight by smashing Lahore Qalandar’s captain and fast bowler Haris Rauf for four consecutive sixes in an over. Asif remained unbeaten on a blazing 62 runs off 26 balls.
With Asif’s remarkable performance, PCB XI reached a total of 119/5 after electing to bat first under the captaincy of Kamran Akmal.
The PCB XI team comprised notable Pakistan internationals such as Abid Ali, Khushdil Shah, Usman Qadir, and Sajid Khan, along with top-performing domestic players including Abbas Afridi, Mohammad Ilyas, and Mohammad Akhlaq.
