The Pakistani government supports the Election Commission’s decision to postpone elections in Punjab, which were scheduled for April 30th.
Federal Law Minister Nazir Tarar emphasized the importance of holding simultaneous elections, as it ensures political stability in the country.
He expressed concerns that the country may face prolonged political turmoil if the elections are not held simultaneously. Tarar shared his views during an interview with the GeoNews program hosted by Shahzeb Khanzada.
In a recent interview with Shahzeb Khanzada on GeoNews, Federal Law Minister Nazir Tarar voiced the government’s support for the Election Commission’s decision not to hold elections in Punjab on April 30th.

He stated that holding simultaneous elections is necessary for political stability in the country and that it’s not necessary to resort to violence to hold elections.
Tarar emphasized that the Election Commission decided to advance the Punjab elections from five to zero after consulting all stakeholders and that the government did not decide. The Law Minister also noted that the coalition government has never shied away from holding elections and that simultaneous elections are necessary for the country’s stability.
