Indian actress Dipika Kakar has revealed her decision to retire from acting and embrace the role of a housewife after becoming a mother. The announcement comes months after Dipika Kakar and her actor-husband Shoaib Ibrahim shared the news of their pregnancy on social media.
In an interview with an Indian entertainment news website, the ‘Bigg Boss 12’ winner expressed her joy and excitement during this pregnancy phase. She stated, “I am enjoying this phase of pregnancy and eagerly anticipating the arrival of our first child. The excitement is on another level. I started working at a very young age and continued for about 10-15 years without a break.”
Dipika Kakar further revealed that with the onset of her pregnancy journey, she conveyed to her husband her desire to quit acting and devote herself to being a housewife and mother. She expressed her eagerness to embrace a new chapter in her life.
It is worth noting that the actress had faced criticism and rumors regarding the authenticity of her pregnancy. In response, she confronted the online bullies and shut down their negativity. Addressing the trolls, she questioned their penchant for spreading negativity even when it came to matters as personal as pregnancy, celebrations, relationships, or professional choices. She emphasized that such negativity had no place in their lives.
Dipika Kakar began her career in showbiz with the television series ‘Neer Bhare Tere Naina Devi’ in 2010. She gained recognition through her roles in popular dramas such as ‘Sasural Simar Ka’ and ‘Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo’. Her most recent appearance was in the show ‘Kahaan Hum Kahaan Tum’. In addition to her acting endeavors, she also participated, in reality, shows like ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 8’, ‘Nach Baliye 8’, and ‘Entertainment Ki Raat’.
