KARACHI: A disturbing incident occurred in Karachi’s Port Qasim area where a police officer was robbed by dacoits who subsequently fled the scene, as reported by ARY News on Wednesday.
According to the details, a group of armed criminals robbed the police officer in the Port Qasim area of Karachi. When the officer resisted, the dacoits attacked him with the butt of a pistol, causing injuries, before escaping. They also took away the officer’s weapons.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Malir, Hassan Sardar, stated that the police officer, Abdul Majid, was involved in the Pak-China Project and was returning after completing his duty when the incident occurred. The perpetrators snatched his SMG weapon and assaulted him by striking his head with the pistol’s butt.
SSP Sardar mentioned that security officials have initiated search operations in Sukhan and the surrounding areas to apprehend the culprits. Meanwhile, the injured officer is currently receiving treatment at the Foreign Security Cell.
The police authorities have initiated investigations into the theft of the SMG. However, SSP Sardar also mentioned that police officers are not allowed to carry weapons after their duty timings.
