In India, a woman who wanted a son threw the newborn into a pond when her first daughter was born.
This incident happened in the Indian state of Assam on April 24, when a mother killed her own child for the crime of being a daughter.
Regarding the details of the incident, the police said that this incident came to light when the body of a girl was seen floating on the pond by local residents.

According to the police, the local residents reported that the body of the girl was found in the pond, after which the police reached the spot and removed the body of the girl from the pond.
During the investigation of the case, the police arrested the girl’s parents, during which it was found that the mother was desirous of a son but was depressed after the birth of a daughter and therefore threw her baby girl into the pond.
According to the police, the incident is being further investigated.
