On Monday, the Foreign Office reported that the situation in Sudan has become increasingly dangerous due to ongoing violence, resulting in the evacuation of Pakistani citizens. The first group of 500 Pakistani nationals who were stranded in the country has reached the port safely, where they will continue their journey to Saudi Arabia by sea. The evacuation efforts have been closely monitored by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif over the last 72 hours, according to a statement from the PM Office.
The Saudi Arabian Embassy in Islamabad announced on Sunday that 91 people, including Pakistanis, had already been evacuated from Sudan. The 500 Pakistanis who were successfully evacuated from Sudan will be brought back to Pakistan from Jeddah via special flights, which will be organized with the assistance of the Pakistan Air Force and Pakistan International Airlines.
The government of Pakistan is providing temporary accommodation and food to the evacuated Pakistanis from Sudan, as directed by Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari. An emergency helpline has been established at Pakistan’s embassy in Khartoum to assist those in need. The crisis management cell at the Foreign Office has been reactivated to ensure the safe return of stranded Pakistanis from Sudan.

The situation in Sudan is being constantly monitored, and the Pakistani embassy is in touch with the nationals. The evacuation process is being supported by the diplomatic missions of Pakistan and other countries in the region. Foreign Minister Bhutto-Zardari has expressed his gratitude to the governments of Egypt and Turkey for their support in this regard. He also held a telephone conversation with his Saudi counterpart, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, during which they discussed regional and global issues of mutual interest.
