Prominent politician Shahid Khaqan Abbasi who is also a former Prime Minister and Senior Vice President of PMLN resigned from the assigned party post.
Sources conveyed that he was furious with party members for not including him in the party consultations for replacing the post of senior vice president to Maryam Nawaz. Although he was disagreeing with the party committee for a long time, this particular incident infuriated him to an extent that he resigned from the post.

Sources further confirmed that there was a continuous dispute among the party committee and former vice president regarding exclusion from party decisions.
His displeasure with the party committee reached the point that he didn’t even welcome the newly appointed vice president of the PMLN party Maryam Nawaz Sharif. Despite ongoing tension between the party and the former president, Maryam Nawaz is expected to meet Shahid Khaqan Abbasi in the next few days to resolve the issue.

Sources state that he was also dissatisfied with party decisions regarding the removal of Mufteh Ismail as federal finance and the appointment of Maryam Nawaz as vice president. On the other hand, the newly appointed vice president of PMLN has decided to remove his reservations.
It is being said that although his resignation has reached the party leader Shhabaz Sharif but hasn’t been accepted yet.
