GUJRAT: The police raided former Punjab chief minister Parvez Elahi’s residence in Gujrat, reported by Geo news.
According to officials who talked about anonymity, many police entered Parvez Elahi’s home and arrested the Kunjari House guards.
According to these sources, police officers stormed inside the house using a ladder. They did, however, return after searching the home.
The authorities are still to verify or deny the operation.
On the other side, Elahi accepted this search and stated that the police raid also mistreated his staff.
“No one informed about the raid. We will file a lawsuit in response to the search on our home, “Elahi said.
It was a dark day for Punjab; as the tenure of former Chief Minister Parvez Elahi ended and the dust settled, multiple people related to him were being probed. The Punjab Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) had registered a case against Elahi’s former principal secretary, Mohammad Khan Bhatti.
The FIR accused Bhatti of taking more than Rs 460 million in bribes from officials of the provincial highway department. The SDO Highway Police, Rana Muhammad Iqbal, had already been arrested on bribery charges, and the ACE had also started planning to arrest Bhatti.

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has revealed that Iqbal Bhatti, the former Punjab Chief Minister’s driver, and gunman, have been arrested for allegedly bribing Faheem Mirza and Irshad, two alleged employees of Punjab House Islamabad. According to the FIR, Bhatti had given a briefcase containing liquor bottles on Elahi’s instructions.
Police further allege that the two frontmen were involved in monetary transactions for Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi in return for a money-filled envelope. As an outcome, another case has been made Against them at Islamabad’s Secretariat Police Station under various provisions.
