“Unbelievable Increase” The federal cabinet has received a summary proposing an increase in the prices of 119 medicines, including those used to treat typhoid, malaria, and colds. The Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) has prepared a summary of the increase in the prices of medicines by more than three and a half hundred percent. According to the media report, 119 medicines have increased by over 350% in their prices. A summary of this increase has been sent to the federal cabinet for approval.
Our Ministry of Health and Department has prepared a summary of drug price hikes, including typhoid, malaria, cold and other medicines. Minister of State for Petroleum Mossadegh Malik has also spoken about the current shortage of petroleum products in the country.

Speaking on Geo News, Mosadak Malik assured the public that there is plenty of petrol and diesel in the country, and there is no need to worry about any shortage or price hikes. He also warned pump owners of deliberately spreading rumours of shortage and promised to take action against them. Malik further clarified that petrol LCs are open, and there will be no change in the price before February 15. He urged the public not to be swayed by reports of pumps being closed in various cities due to alleged shortages.
It was reported that most petrol pumps had been closed in Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Shakargarh, Khushab, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, and other cities. There are long queues of vehicles at the open petrol pumps, in this regard the citizens have said that the open petrol pumps are providing Rs 200 petrol to motorcyclists and Rs 500 petrol to car owners.
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has taken action against the artificial shortage of petroleum products in cities across Punjab following the announcement of an increase in the prices of petroleum products by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar. With the help of the district administration, the provincial chief secretaries are working to address the issue of pump closures and ensure the supply of petrol. We are confident that the matter will be resolved soon.
