Two soldiers martyred in terror attack along Pak-Iran border: ISPR

In a tragic incident, two soldiers were martyred in a shootout with terrorists at a security forces post in the Singwan region, situated on the border with Iran, in Balochistan’s Kech district, as confirmed by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Thursday.

According to the military’s media wing, a group of terrorists targeted the security forces’ post but were repelled by the alert and vigilant deployed troops.

A fierce exchange of fire ensued as the soldiers valiantly fought back, utilizing all available weapons at their disposal.

“During the intense firefight, two brave soldiers, Sepoy Hasnain Ishtiaq, aged 34, and Sepoy Inayat Ullah, aged 27, embraced martyrdom while bravely fighting against the terrorists,” stated the ISPR.

The ISPR provided details about the martyred soldiers, disclosing that Sepoy Ishtiaq hailed from Dera Ghazi Khan district, while Sepoy Inayat was a resident of Jhal Magsi district.

Following the attack, a sanitization operation was launched in the area, and contact was established with Iranian authorities to prevent the terrorists from escaping.

The ISPR emphasized that the security forces, in unity with the nation, remain resolute in thwarting attempts to disrupt peace and stability along the borders in Balochistan.

In a separate operation conducted the previous day in South Waziristan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, security forces successfully neutralized two terrorists.

According to the ISPR, an intelligence-based operation was carried out in the Dossali area based on credible information about the presence of terrorists.

“Intense exchange of fire occurred between security forces and terrorists during the operation, resulting in the killing of two terrorists,” stated the ISPR. The security forces also seized weapons and ammunition from the terrorists.

The military’s media wing further revealed that the terrorists had been actively involved in targeting security forces and perpetrating violence against innocent civilians.

Efforts are underway to sanitize the area and eliminate any remaining terrorists.

The operation received praise and strong support from the local community, who expressed their determination to eliminate the menace of terrorism.
