Former President and General (retd) Pervez Musharraf’s funeral prayers will be held today at Malir Cantonment’s Polo Ground at 1:45 pm. His dead body was brought to Karachi on Monday night in a special plane from the United Arab Emirates after facing several delays in take-off.

Before that, the deceased’s body was ritually washed and shrouded (in preparation for burial) in Sonapur, Dubai, where he passed away at the age of 79. Along with the deceased’s body, his widow and children were also with him.

The plane with the deceased body arrived at the old terminal of the airport in Karachi, Pakistan. The body was brought along with the grieving family and then taken to the due destination under tight security.
It is reported that on Sunday, the grieving family went to Pakistan’s consulate in Dubai to grant permission to shift the body.
Gen (retd) Musharraf, also the former president of Pakistan, passed away on Sunday after being treated for amyloidosis at the American Hospital in Dubai. He will be laid to rest far from his home. His mother found her final resting place in Dubai while his father was buried among friends and family back in Karachi.
