During a recent hearing at the Supreme Court, the former Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Sindh Police, Rao Anwar, was directed to seek assistance from the federal government regarding removing his name from the Exit Control List (ECL).
The hearing was related to a petition requesting removing Rao Anwar’s name from the ECL. The Supreme Court instructed him to take up the matter with the federal government to resolve the issue.

The court further clarified that the responsibility of adding or removing names from the Exit Control List lies with the federal government. It is important to mention that Rao Anwar’s name was placed on the ECL due to his alleged involvement in the Naqeebullah murder case. However, he was later acquitted by the court.
