Fiona James, a famous Filipina tiktoker from Dubai, converted to Islam in the holy month of Ramadan.
According to Arab media reports, Fiona, who has around 0.8 million followers on video sharing app TikTok, changed her name to Zainab after converting to Islam at Dubai’s Islamic Information Center Satwa in the first week of Ramadan.
Zainab, a resident of Manila, the capital of the Philippines, moved to the United Arab Emirates more than eight years ago and was fascinated by the sound of the call to prayer from mosques.
In an interview given to Khaleej Times, Zainab said, “Actually, whenever I heard the call to prayer, I felt calm. In fact, I even memorized some of the words of the call to prayer. I became interested in Islam because of the call to prayer.”
Zainab is currently taking online classes from the Islamic Information Center to learn about Islam and is also memorizing Quranic surahs, she hopes to complete the course in a month.
Zainab further says that my family is happy with my decision and no one forced them to accept Islam, they have accepted Islam willingly and happily.
According to the report, Salman, a Pakistani tiktoker with 2 million followers, helped Zainab learn about Islam and get an education.
