Samsung has confirmed that its upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event, known for unveiling new smartphones and other gadgets, is scheduled to take place in late July. Breaking from tradition, this year’s event will be held in Seoul, South Korea. As with recent summer Unpacked events, the focus is expected to be on foldable devices.
TM Roh, Samsung’s president and head of its mobile experience business, emphasized the significance of the foldable category, stating, “The foldable category embodies Samsung’s philosophy of delivering innovation that pushes boundaries to reshape the future of mobile experiences.” Roh further explained that hosting Unpacked in Seoul holds great importance due to the city’s emergence as a center for innovation and culture, as well as its connection to the foldable category.
According to a May rumor, this year’s Unpacked event could take place on July 26th. Going forward, Unpacked shows centered around foldables will be held in different cities that align closely with the designated theme of each event, as per Samsung’s statement.
While the exact date of this year’s event is yet to be confirmed, the July timeframe indicates that Unpacked will be slightly earlier than usual. Last year’s event took place in August. Given the previous unveiling of the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Z Fold 4, it is expected that updates to both these smartphones will be announced this year. Rumors suggest that the Z Flip 5 will feature a larger outer display, while the Z Fold 5 will be significantly thinner when folded. A hot summer awaits foldable enthusiasts!
The July Unpacked event in Seoul promises to be an exciting platform for Samsung to showcase its latest advancements in foldable technology, demonstrating its commitment to pushing the boundaries of mobile innovation.
