Islamabad: Former Chairman Senate and current Senator Mian Raza Rabbani said that it seems that Pakistan is being forced to play a role that is against the national interests.
In his statement, he said that due to the hesitation of the IMF to sign the agreement and the reluctance of friendly countries except for China, the Parliament needs to be taken into confidence. Being forced is against national and strategic interests.

He said that the people have the right to know whether our nuclear assets are under pressure. Are our strategic ties with China at risk or are we being asked to play a role in the region that will facilitate the military presence of imperialist power?
He said that these questions require the Prime Minister’s policy statement on the floor of the Joint Parliament. There was no discussion or briefing from the government on the question of TTP and the rise in terrorism. Governments want independence from Parliament.
