PTI female workers, Aliya Hamza, Sanam Javed, and Tayyab, were brought before an anti-terrorism court in Lahore in connection with their alleged involvement in the riots that occurred on May 9.
During an informal conversation, Aliya Hamza, Sanam Javed, and Tayyaba denied experiencing any form of torture in jail and refuted the claims made by the former prime minister and PTI chief regarding rape.
Sanam Javed stated that they had not committed any wrongdoing and described their imprisonment as “injustice.”
Previously, the former prime minister had alleged mistreatment of women as a means to exert pressure on political leaders. The government has consistently denied the allegations of mistreatment concerning PTI women prisoners.
Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) Investigation, Dr. Anoosh Masood, disclosed the status of the women prisoners held in Kot Lakhpat Jail, stating, “The prisoners informed me that they are not facing any issues in the jail. Women prison cells are separated from male prison cells, and male officials are not permitted to enter the premises.”
