Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif directed the concerned authorities to form a project support team for the implementation of the Rekodiq Copper-cum-Gold project.
According to the reports, 50% of the Rekodic project is owned by Barrack Gold Corporation of Canada, 25% by three federal government agencies, and 25% by Balochistan. During a meeting with a delegation led by Dennis Mark Bristow, President and CEO of Barrick Gold Corporation, the Prime Minister directed the officials of the relevant departments to fulfill their responsibilities for the implementation of the project.
Shahbaz Sharif said that Pakistan has immense investment opportunities in mining, information technology, energy, communication, and infrastructure sectors and the government is taking steps to provide all possible facilities to investors.
The Prime Minister said that many areas of Pakistan, including Balochistan, are rich in mineral resources and the government is working on a priority basis to make full use of these natural resources for the welfare of the people. Shahbaz Sharif said that the recent agreement on Recodek project will be beneficial for both parties and this project will be a game changer for the people of Balochistan and will usher in a new era of development in the province.
